History

GIIGNL was founded soon after the birth of the LNG Industry by the then small group of companies importing LNG to share information to facilitate the development of LNG imports and support the growth of the LNG industry.

      

Beginning with 19 member companies in 1971, GIIGNL has grown to 52 Full and 10 Associate members from 19 different countries around the world (Asia, Europe and the Americas).

     

In line with the development of the LNG industry, the membership is now composed of infrastructure companies, gas and power companies and most of the major oil companies active in the import of LNG.
