Members
The members of GIIGNL represent the LNG import industry from around the world – in Asia, Europe and Americas.
There are two categories of membership: Full and Associate (for details of these memberships, please see “Becoming a Member of GIIGNL” below).
Becoming a Member of GIIGNL
GIIGNL consists of Full and Associate Members. To become a Full Member of GIIGNL it is normally necessary for a company to have equity interest in or to make long-term imports through a LNG terminal. Associate Membership is normally available to applicants who have entered into a contract to build or to make short-term imports through a LNG terminal. Each member, whether full or associate, is physically represented by a person designated by his company, typically the Chairman or CEO of the member organization and an alternate. The exact requirements for Membership are given in the latest version of GIIGNL’s by-laws.
The Associate Members will have the benefit of all information generated by GIIGNL Central Office and the two standing Study Groups and may participate in all the activities of GIIGNL including attendance at the General Assembly in a non-voting capacity. However, they cannot be a member of the Executive Committee.
The Executive Committee is charged with making the determination of the qualifications of prospective full or associate member applicants. If an applicant possesses the required qualifications, the application for membership will be put forward for approval by the next General Assembly.
