BP to take full control of Trinidad gas project

BP agreed to acquire Woodside’s 70% stake in the Calypso gas project offshore Trinidad and Tobago, raising its interest to 100%. The deal will make BP operator of the early-stage deepwater gas project, with closing expected by end-2026 subject to approvals. Calypso could support BP’s existing Trinidad gas infrastructure and its 45% stake in Atlantic LNG. For Woodside, the sale simplifies its portfolio and ends its decades-long presence in Trinidad and Tobago.
