Edison says QatarEnergy extends force majeure until early December

Edison announced on 28 September 2026 that QatarEnergy has notified it of six additional LNG cargoes that cannot be delivered to Italy's Adriatic LNG terminal. According to Edison, the notice extends the force majeure period affecting these contractual deliveries from early April to early December 2026.

A total of 35 cargoes, equivalent to approximately 4.6 billion cubic metres of natural gas, is now affected. Edison said it had replaced 23 cargoes, approximately 2.3 billion cubic metres, by 28 September and confirmed its ability to source alternative gas and meet its customer commitments.
