GNV Aurora completes first LNG bunkering in Genoa

GNV has completed the first LNG bunkering operation for its newbuild ferry GNV Aurora at the port of Genoa. The LNG was supplied by the Green Zeebrugge bunkering vessel through Axpo, continuing the partnership already used for GNV Virgo. GNV said the operation marks another step in expanding the use of LNG-fueled vessels despite volatile energy markets and rising fuel prices. The company is building up its LNG fleet further, with eight new LNG-powered vessels expected to join between 2025 and 2030.
