GTT gets ABS OK for new LNG containment system
French LNG containment specialist GTT has received general design approval from ABS for its Next1 LNG cargo containment system, enabling use on LNG carriers. The approval, granted at LNG2026 in Doha, follows earlier endorsements from Bureau Veritas and Lloyd’s Register in 2024. Next1 offers thermal performance comparable to Mark III Flex+ while using two metallic barriers and proven materials. GTT has already secured multiple LNG carrier tank design orders in 2025, including projects with Samsung Heavy, Hanwha Ocean, and HD KSOE.
