Maersk orders 20 LNG-powered containerships in China and South Korea
Maersk has ordered 20 LNG dual-fuel containerships from shipyards in China and South Korea, with delivery scheduled between 2028 and 2030. These vessels, totaling 300,000 TEU in capacity, are part of a larger plan for 50-60 dual-fuel ships, including LNG and methanol-powered vessels, combining owned and chartered orders. This effort supports Maersk’s aim to secure 800,000 TEU capacity between 2026 and 2030 as it diversifies its fuel strategy.
