Petronet LNG declares force majeure to offtakers

Petronet LNG declared force majeure on LNG supplies to GAIL, IOCL and BPCL after disruptions linked to Qatar’s Ras Laffan facility and shipping restrictions near the Strait of Hormuz. The issue affects Petronet’s 7.5 mtpa long-term FOB supply contract with QatarEnergy, though the overall impact remains unclear. As a result, GAIL may cut gas supplies to downstream customers while it assesses the situation. GAIL said LNG volumes from its other sources remain unaffected.
