Qatar Sends Its First LNG Shipment Through Hormuz in Three Weeks

Qatar sent its first LNG shipment through the Strait of Hormuz since the attack on one of its tankers more than three weeks ago. The Al Areesh, loaded at Ras Laffan in early July, had been idling in the Persian Gulf before resuming transit. The vessel crossed Hormuz with its transponder switched on and was entering the Gulf of Oman on Thursday morning. The cargo is signaling Pakistan as its next destination, suggesting a cautious restart of Qatari LNG flows through the chokepoint.
