Seatrium wins new FSRU conversion contract from Karpowership

Singapore’s Seatrium will convert another LNG carrier into an FSRU for Türkiye’s Karpowership, marking its eighth conversion project for the company. The project, starting in Q3 2026, will create Karpowership’s first high-capacity FSRU (LNGT Karadeniz) with regasification capacity of up to 4.5 mtpa. The contract follows a 2025 letter of intent covering three LNGC-to-FSRU conversions and integration of new powerships. Seatrium recently delivered the FSRU LNGT Powership Oceania, bringing its total to 23 FSRU/FSU conversions, representing over 90% of global conversions.
