Sempra’s ECA LNG set to ship first export cargo
Sempra is expected to load the first export cargo from its 3.25 mtpa Energia Costa Azul LNG Phase 1 project in Mexico. The empty Pacific Success LNG carrier has arrived at the Ensenada facility after feed gas deliveries rose sharply in June, suggesting commissioning is near completion. ECA LNG Phase 1 started producing LNG last month and is expected to reach substantial completion this summer. The project will export US gas from Mexico’s Pacific Coast to Asia and Pacific Basin markets, with TotalEnergies and Mitsui offtaking 2.5 mtpa under 20-year deals.
