Shell says it will not take part in YPF’s Argentina LNG project

Shell has decided not to move forward with the 10 mtpa phase of YPF’s Argentina LNG project, for which the two companies signed a project development agreement in December 2024. A Shell spokesperson said the firm only participated in pre-FEED and chose not to proceed to the next stage, but noted that Shell still views Argentina as a “potentially attractive growth market for LNG export” and continues to explore other expansion options with YPF.
