Williams Takes Stake in Woodside’s Louisiana LNG and Pipeline Projects
Williams has acquired a 10% interest in Woodside’s Louisiana LNG project and an 80% stake and operatorship in the Driftwood Pipeline for $250 million, with total proceeds to Woodside reaching $378 million including capital reimbursement. Williams will contribute about $1.9 billion in project capital and take 10% of LNG offtake, equivalent to 1.6 mtpa. The deal reduces Woodside’s project cost estimate to $9.9 billion, down from $11.8 billion at FID. The partnership marks Williams’ first investment in LNG, with first production from Louisiana LNG targeted for 2029.
