Argentina’s Southern Energy takes FID on second FLNG
Argentina’s Southern Energy (SESA), the JV in which YPF has 30% stake, has taken FID on its second FLNG unit, chartering Golar’s 3.5 mtpa MK II FLNG for 20 years. The vessel, converted from the LNG carrier Fuji LNG, is under construction at CIMC Raffles shipyard in Yantai, China, where fabrication of the 390-meter hull has begun. Start-up is expected in 2028 in Argentina’s SanMatías Gulf, operating along side FLNG Hilli for a combined capacity of nearly 6 MTPA.
