Canada to get LNG cargo from Egypt

Egypt has exported its first LNG cargo of 2026 to Canada. According to Egypt’s Ministry of Petroleum, the cargo reflects efforts to attract investment and strengthen Egypt’s role as a regional gas trading hub. The shipment comes despite rising LNG imports into Egypt and follows six LNG exports in 2025, while Canada continues to both export LNG from the LNG Canada project and import LNG via the Saint John terminal.

Jera signs LNG supply deal with Hokkaido Gas

Jera has signed a long-term liquefied natural gas supply agreement with Hokkaido Gas. Under the deal, Jera will deliver two to three LNG cargoes per year, about 130,000 to 200,000 tonnes annually, on a delivered ex-ship (DES) basis from its global LNG portfolio. The seven-year contract will start in 2027.
