Cheniere Establishes Methane Emissions Intensity Target for its Liquefaction Assets
Cheniere Energy has set a 2027 target to limit methane emissions to 0.03% per tonne of LNG at its Gulf Coast facilities, in line with UNEP’s OGMP 2.0 Gold Standard. This goal, based on extensive emissions monitoring, advances its climate strategy. Cheniere also updated its LNG life cycle assessment, showing its emissions are below U.S. DOE standards, and is collaborating with partners across the LNG supply chain to enhance emissions reduction efforts.
