CIMC SOE Launches Avenir LNG Bunkering Vessel

China's CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering (CIMC SOE) has launched Avenir Ambition, the first of two 20,000-cbm LNG bunkering vessels being built for Avenir LNG. The vessel is scheduled to enter service in the fourth quarter of 2026 under a seven-year charter to Vitol, with options to extend to 10 years. Its sister vessel is expected to join the fleet in the first quarter of 2027. The newbuilds will support the expansion of LNG bunkering and small-scale LNG supply services.
