Edison says QatarEnergy extends force majeure until end of September

Edison received a new QatarEnergy force majeure notice covering 3 additional LNG cargoes due at Italy’s Adriatic LNG terminal. The force majeure period is now extended from early April to end-September 2026, affecting 24 cargoes in total. These volumes represent around 3 bcm of gas, while Edison has already replaced 17 cargoes, equal to about 1.6 bcm. Edison says it can still meet customer commitments despite the disruption to its long-term 6.4 bcm/year QatarEnergy contract.
