Elengy Launches €220 Million Upgrade of Montoir LNG Terminal
Elengy has started a €220 million modernization of its Montoir-de-Bretagne LNG terminal on France’s Atlantic coast. The Ulysse project will replace combustion-based regasification equipment with two units using water from the Loire River and refurbish existing facilities, reducing direct regasification CO₂ emissions by 80 percent and avoiding more than 30,000 tonnes annually. Work will continue through 2030 while the terminal remains operational. Montoir has an annual sendout capacity of 10 bcm and has handled more than 3,000 LNG carriers since beginning operations in 1980.
