Hudong-Zhonghua started building the first 271,000-cbm QC-Max LNG carrier for QatarEnergy, presented as the world’s largest LNG carrier by capacity. The vessel will be 344 m long, use WinGD dual-fuel propulsion, reliquefaction, air lubrication and five GTT NO96 Super+ tanks. Delivery is expected in H1 2028, with the ship forming part of 24 QC-Max vessels chartered to QatarEnergy. All QC-Max ships will be built by Hudong-Zhonghua, alongside 12 smaller 174,000-cbm LNG carriers.
