Indian LNG carrier Disha first to cross Hormuz after ceasefire
Indian LNG carrier Disha transited the Strait of Hormuz carrying 62,370 tonnes of Qatari LNG for Petronet LNG after being stranded in the Persian Gulf for over three months. The transit followed the US-Iran peace deal signed in Versailles on Wednesday, which raised hopes for a gradual reopening of the chokepoint. It is not the first vessel to cross Hormuz, but it is the first Indian merchant vessel to do so in nearly two months. Traffic remains cautious, with shipowners waiting to see whether the deal holds after months of attacks, blockades and AIS-dark transits.
