QatarEnergy seals 27-year LNG supply deal with Japan’s Jera
QatarEnergy and Japan’s Jera signed a 27-year LNG sales and purchase agreement for the supply of 3 mtpa of LNG from Qatar to Japan. The DES deliveries are set to begin in 2028, with the deal signed during the LNG 2026 conference in Doha. The agreement strengthens a partnership dating back to the early 1990s and supports Japan’s long-term energy security. It aligns with QatarEnergy’s North Field expansion, which will raise LNG capacity in Ras Laffan from 77 mtpa to 142 mtpa by 2030.
