Tokyo Gas and Partners Start Construction on Vietnam LNG-to-Power Project

Tokyo Gas, Kyuden, and Truong Thanh Viet Nam have begun work on the Thai Binh LNG-to-power project following a groundbreaking ceremony on October 10. Valued at $2.69 billion, the project includes two 1,500 MW combined-cycle gas turbine units fueled by LNG and is expected to start operations in late 2029. It aims to supply 6–10 billion kWh of electricity annually to address northern Vietnam’s growing power demand.
