Venture Global wins Calcasieu Pass arbitration
Venture Global has won an arbitration case against Shell over LNG sales from its Calcasieu Pass terminal in Louisiana. The tribunal backed Venture Global’s interpretation of its LNG sales contracts, validating its practice of exporting commissioning cargoes before declaring commercial operations. Shell, along with BP and other buyers, has contested delayed COD declarations, with claims seeking up to $7.4 billion in damages. Further arbitration rulings are expected later this year.
