Bangladesh’s RPGCL seeks more spot LNG cargoes

Bangladesh’s RPGCL issued a tender for three spot LNG cargoes for early April after QatarEnergy declared force majeure on LNG deliveries. The tender, sent to 24 registered suppliers, closes on March 10 and follows an earlier tender for two cargoes. Recent spot cargoes from Gunvor and Vitol were priced at $28/mmBtu and $23/mmBtu, more than double January levels (~$10/mmBtu). With QatarEnergy, OQ Trading, and Excelerate invoking force majeure, Bangladesh risks losing six contracted LNG cargoes for April, increasing dependence on costly spot purchases.
