BW confirms move to three-tank LNG carrier design

BW LNG has confirmed it is working with GTT, DNV, and HD Hyundai Group on a new three-tank LNG carrier design, an industry first. The design, based on GTT’s Mark III system, increases capacity to about 177,000 cbm without changing vessel dimensions, aiming to lower unit freight costs while maintaining terminal compatibility. BW recently ordered two such vessels at HD Hyundai Samho, scheduled for delivery in 2028.
