Egypt says no one injured after Damietta FSRU incident

Egypt confirmed that a drone caused the fire on board the 138,350-cbm FSRU Energos Winter at Damietta LNG terminal. The incident occurred during LNG discharge operations and reportedly also involved the GasLog Salem LNG carrier, which was located offshore Damietta alongside the FSRU. No injuries were reported, all crew are safe, and the FSRU was removed from the berth while technical assessments continue. The Energos Winter, chartered by EGAS for five years, had started operations at Damietta in October 2025 after being deployed as an import/regasification unit at the existing LNG export site.
