Galveston LNG Bunker Port to produce e-LNG for bunkering
Galveston LNG Bunker Port in Texas signs an LOI to produce and supply e‑LNG for ships using renewable e‑methane from Loa Carbon; a climate technology company from New York and specialises in producing renewable synthetic methane. The facility, located on the Texas City Ship Channel, will serve ports in Houston, Galveston, and Texas City. It has permits and long-term gas supply agreement with Energy Transfer’s Houston Pipeline and aims to start operations in 2027–2028 with storage and liquefaction capacity for bunkering. GLBP expects to be the first supplier of e‑LNG bunker fuel in North America.
