MOL names first LNG carrier equipped with sails

MOL named Fujin Sailor, a 174,000-cbm LNG carrier to be chartered long-term by Chevron. MOL says it is the world’s first LNG carrier equipped with a wind-assisted propulsion system. The vessel has two Wind Challenger hard sails, installed by Hanwha Ocean, with potential fuel savings of up to 12% per voyage. Delivery is expected at the end of September.
