MOL and GAIL Enter LNG Carrier Charter Deal
Japan’s shipping group MOL has signed a long-term charter agreement to provide an LNG carrier to India’s largest gas utility, GAIL. The agreement was signed during an energy event in India and concerns the 180,000-cbm LNG carrier GAIL Bhuwan, built in 2021. The vessel is owned by LNG Japonica Shipping, a joint venture between MOL (74%) and GAIL (26%). The deal builds on a long-standing partnership between the two companies in LNG shipping and energy logistics.
